Suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo said all accusations against her are baseless in a letter sent by her associates directly to the Office of Executive Secretary on Tuesday.
“I strongly deny any involvement in the alleged cases of kidnapping, illegal detention, or human trafficking. These accusations are completely baseless and devoid of any truth,” Guo said in her letter addressed to Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
As this developed, Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian said Guo Hua Ping could be the real name of Mayor Guo.
“Alice Guo might be the Guo Hua Ping who entered the Philippines on Jan. 12, 2003 when she was 13 years old,” said Gatchalian in a Viber message to reporters.
Gatchalian also disclosed that the real birth date of Guo is on Aug. 31, 1990.
Bersamin also sits as the chairperson of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), which recently announced it is preparing multiple charges versus Guo. The mayor has been linked to the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO) in Bamban.
Guo appealed for a fair investigation and vowed to work with the authorities.
“I am respectful and humbly requesting the esteemed office of PAOCC to conduct a thorough and unbiased investigation into these allegations,” she stated.
In a report last Saturday, PAOCC said it would file serious, non-bailable criminal charges against Guo and others.
PAOCC spokesperson Winston John Casio announced the charges will be submitted to the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Friday, citing strong evidence against Guo, whose name and signature appear in numerous documents.
Casio said in a separate interview that the suspended mayor might also face human trafficking charges.
The PAOCC is also looking into possible connections between illegal POGO activities in Bamban and Porac, Pampanga. Casio noted the ongoing investigation in Porac, with an evidence inventory set for completion by Saturday.
