Multi-awarded film and television actress Maricel Soriano is expected to attend the Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs’ hearing on the so-called “PDEA Leaks,” which is scheduled at 10AM this Tuesday.

Soriano confirmed her attendance to the second legislative inquiry on the issue. Senator Ronald dela Rosa, a former national police director, is leading the investigation on the topic as chairperson of the aforementioned Senate panel.

The controversy stemmed from the alleged leaked documents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), which linked several high-profile personalities—including Soriano and even President Marcos—in the complicated illegal drug trade.

Soriano was named among the targets of a supposed drug operation at Rockwell, which did not push through allegedly because of interventions made by former Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa and Dela Rosa.

PDEA Director Virgilio Lazo, who testified in the first committee hearing said that no such operation was found on the agency’s official records, belying the claims of former PDEA agent Jonathan Morales.Morales provided testimony on the supposed leaked 2012 documents that implicated then senator and now President Marcos and Soriano.
