#ANONGBALITA Vlogger apologizes for money kite worth P1 million

A Cebuano vlogger, Boy Tapang, apologized for making a kite out of P1,000 banknotes worth P1 million.

“Ginawa ko lang yung content na saranggola kasi po ay for entertainment purposes only,” Boy Tapang said in a recent post.

The original vlog, which was uploaded earlier this month and has since been taken down from his Facebook page, prompted a visit by members of the Payments and Currency Investigation Group of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

Boy Tapang, Ronnie Suan in real life, said he should have just created a plastic kite instead of using the banknotes.

Presidential Decree No. 247 prohibits anyone from willfully defacing, mutilating, tearing, burning or destroying banknotes and coins issued by the country’s central bank.
