The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and the Philippine Red Cross signed an agreement to conduct regular mobile blood donation drives and provide blood assistance to MMDA personnel and their families.

The agreement aims to help ensure a stable and safe blood supply for individuals in need, including MMDA employees requiring blood during medical emergencies.

Artes thanked the Philippine Red Cross for the partnership and said the MMDA remains committed to supporting blood donation programs and assisting patients in need.

Isla also expressed appreciation to the MMDA for its continued support of Red Cross initiatives.

MMDA employees participated in a blood donation drive organized by the Philippine Red Cross at the MMDA headquarters in Pasig City on Tuesday.

Before donating blood, participants underwent medical screening and evaluation to determine their eligibility and ensure donor safety.

The program aims to recruit more than 100 blood donors from the agency’s workforce. The first 100 donors will receive one year of Red Cross accidental insurance coverage as an incentive.

Artes said initiatives such as the blood donation campaign are essential in maintaining adequate blood supplies for patients requiring immediate transfusions, particularly during emergencies and disasters.
