PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. has ordered summary dismissal proceedings against a Basilan policeman who was arrested in a P13.6-million drug operation in Zamboanga City.
Nartatez said the 45-year-old police staff sergeant was collared rested by anti-narcotics operatives on May 16 in Barangay Sta. Maria, where authorities seized about 2,000 grams of suspected shabu.
The PNP chief also ordered the officer’s immediate preventive suspension in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to hold erring policemen accountable.
“I will not tolerate wolves in sheep’s clothing within our ranks. I have already ordered the immediate initiation of summary dismissal proceedings against the arrested personnel,” Nartatez said.
