The OCD said minor strombolian activity was observed at the volcano at around 5:24 a.m. Saturday. Such activity refers to low-level, intermittent volcanic explosions.
In a Facebook advisory, the agency urged residents to remain alert, stay cautious, and follow the warnings and instructions of authorities.
Mayon remains under Alert Level 3, with state volcanologists prohibiting entry into the six-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone.
