PNP, AFP, PCG strengthen coordination vs. threats

The Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) have strengthened their coordination and operational capabilities following the 5th National Joint Peace and Security Coordinating Center (JPSCC) meeting held at Camp Crame in Quezon City on March 3.

PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. led the meeting with AFP Deputy Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Rommel Roldan and PCG Commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan.

The meeting aimed to further strengthen the relationship among the country’s three main security agencies to build a comprehensive security blanket across the archipelago.

According to Nartatez, the continuous exchange of knowledge and coordination is vital to enhance the agencies’ capabilities in responding to threats to peace and order.

“This is a regular meeting of the minds to discuss ways of further improving our operational capabilities, especially in terms of intelligence-sharing and interoperability, for the protection and peace of mind of the Filipino people,” he said.

During the meeting, officials discussed directives from previous sessions and ratified JPSCC Resolution No. 01-2026 to maintain Stable Internal Peace and Security Areas in the country.

They also approved Joint Letter Directive No. 01-2026 and adopted the Joint Strategic Communication Plan “PAGKAKAISA,” aimed at strengthening coordination and information-sharing to counter emerging security threats.
