The Philippine Embassy in Qatar on Saturday advised Filipino nationals to closely monitor official updates and remain vigilant amid heightened tensions in the Middle East involving Israel, Iran, and the United States.
In a public advisory, the embassy urged Filipinos to regularly check announcements from the Philippine mission and local Qatari authorities as regional developments continue to evolve.
The strikes launched on Saturday, described by US and Israeli officials as a preemptive campaign targeting Iranian missile and military capabilities, have triggered explosions in Tehran and other Iranian cities.
The embassy called on the Filipino community to “be wise, ready, calm, and prepared” as it emphasized the importance of preparedness and responsible information sharing.
Under its guidance, the embassy encouraged nationals to rely only on official government channels and trusted news sources, and to verify information before sharing it to prevent the spread of rumors and misinformation.
The embassy advised the community to pay close attention to local advisories and community alerts that may be issued by authorities in Qatar.
It said that managing anxiety is crucial in ensuring clear thinking and effective preparation, adding that the public should focus on controllable actions and trust authorities’ efforts to maintain public safety.
Lastly, the embassy encouraged families to review their household preparedness plans to ensure they can respond effectively should the need arise.
The embassy said it continues to monitor the situation and stands ready to provide assistance to Filipino nationals in its jurisdiction as needed.
