The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on late Saturday afternoon recorded a magnitude 5.0 earthquake 19 kilometers northeast of Cabangan, Zambales.
According to the state seismology bureau, the earthquake took place at around 5:32 p.m.

It was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 100 kilometers.
Intensity III (Weak) was felt in Cabangan and Iba, Zambales.
Although no damage is expected, Phivolcs has forecast aftershocks.
