Bersamin urges public servants to focus on work, ignore distractions

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin called on public servants on Friday to remain steadfast in their mission to improve the lives of Filipinos, urging them to focus on their duties and avoid being distracted by “noise.”

“As we begin a new year, let us take the opportunity to renew our commitment to build the ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ we all envision,” Bersamin said at the 2025 Budget Execution Forum led by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

“Our mission today is crystal clear: to serve the Filipino people with unwavering integrity, relentless dedication, and genuine compassion,” he added.

Bersamin emphasized the importance of pressing forward amid the challenges the current administration is facing.

“Let us forge ahead, undeterred by the noise, focused on uplifting the lives of our people to the best of our abilities,” he said.

The Budget Execution Forum provided an avenue for public servants to discuss the implementation of this year’s national budget. President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. signed into law the P6.326 trillion 2025 national budget in December.

Earlier this week, the DBM issued National Budget Circular No. 595, outlining the framework for implementing the 2025 General Appropriations Act (Republic Act No. 12116) and continuing automatic appropriations under Republic Act 11975.

“This budget represents not just numbers on paper but our collective vision for a prosperous Philippines,” Bersamin said.

The forum underscored the administration’s commitment to transparency and efficiency in utilizing public funds to achieve inclusive growth and improve the quality of life for all Filipinos.
