At least ten candidates of the administration’s Alyansa slate will win if the midterm elections are held today, according to the latest Social Weather Stations survey.
Only two bets from the opposition PDP ticket and one independent are likely to join the winner’s circle, the fourth quarter survey said.
The survey, sponsored by Stratbase Consultancy, asked respondents to pick 12 names from a list of 70 candidates.
Alyansa bet, Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo, topped the survey with 45% of respondents saying they would vote for him. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. followed with 33%, also from the Alyansa slate, while Bong Go, running under the PDP team, placed third with 32%.
Sen. Pia Cayetano is tied with Go for third-fourth while former Senate president Vicente “Tito” Sotto III (31 percent) trails behind in fifth place.
Erwin’s brother Ben (30 percent) sits in sixth place.
The rest of the “magic 12” includes Philippine National Police (PNP) chief-turned-senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson (27 percent) at seventh place, former senator Manny Pacquiao and Willie Revillame (26 percent each) tied at eighth-ninth place, outgoing Makati Mayor Abigail “Abby” Binay (25 percent) at 10th place, and Sen. Lito Lapid (23 percent) at 11th place.
All in contention for the final spot at House Deputy Majority Leader and Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar and Sens. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa and Imee Marcos (21 percent each) tied in the 12th-14th places.
Edged out at 15th place is former senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan (20 percent).
The survey also found that 12% of voters are still undecided, leaving the race open for changes in voter preferences.
The survey was conducted from December 12-18, 2024, using face-to-face interviews of 2,097 registered voters (18 years old and above) nationwide: 342 in Metro Manila, 1,050 in Balance Luzon (or Luzon outside Metro Manila), 353 in the Visayas, and 352 in Mindanao.
