PBBM approves higher gratuity pay for contractual, job order government workers

Individuals working in government agencies under contract of service (COS) and job order (JO) arrangements will receive higher gratuity pay this year, Malacañang announced on Friday after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. signed Administrative Order (AO) No. 28.

Under the AO, the non-regular government employees are entitled to a one-time gratuity pay not exceeding P7,000 this year, depending on their length of service as of December 15, 2024. The expected disbursement is broken down as follows:

  • 3 months but less than 4 months – not exceeding P6,000
  • 2 months but less than 3 months – not exceeding P5,000
  • less than 2 months – not exceeding P4,000

“This Order shall cover workers whose services are directly engaged through COS and JO by national government agencies (NGAs), state universities and colleges (SUCs), government-owned or -controlled corporations (GOCCs), and local water districts,” according to the AO 28.

President Marcos signed the order on Thursday. The P7,000 limit is higher than the authorized P5,000 gratuity pay last year. It shall be paid to qualified COS and JO workers in government not earlier than December 15.
