The Philippine Air Force (PAF) recognized the Tentara Nasional Indonesia (TNI) for their invaluable contributions and support during the recent Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) operations that followed Severe Tropical Storm “Kristine.”
A recognition and awarding ceremony was organized by the PAF, led by Commanding General LtGen. Stephen Parreno.
In his remarks, Parreno expressed deep gratitude to the Indonesian Armed Forces, emphasizing the strength of the bilateral partnership.
He noted that the Indonesian military’s swift and effective response to the crisis demonstrated the enduring friendship and cooperation between the Republics of Indonesia and the Philippines.
The 24 members of the Indonesian contingent, headed by Col. Asep Wahyu Wijaya of the Indonesian Air Force, received the Chief of Staff Commendation Medal and Ribbon (CSCMR) as well as the Military Civic Action Medal (MCAM).
They were personally presented with these awards by the CG, PAF, along with other key officers from the PAF. This contingent augmented the PAF’s HADR missions by providing essential aerial relief services to the hardest-hit areas of the Bicol Region.
