Packetworx, a Philippine-based Internet of Things social enterprise, is bringing innovative Internet of Things (IoT) solutions to the forefront of the country’s digital transformation.

The company is hosting IoTCon 2024, a conference that brings together industry professionals, government representatives and global IoT stakeholders on Oct. 29 to 30, 2024 at SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

The IoTCon 2024 focuses on building a robust, unified IoT ecosystem in the Philippines. With the theme “Connected Ecosystem in Building the IoT-Ready Philippines,” the conference aims to foster collaboration and drive the expansion of IoT solutions in the country.

“IoTCon 2024 seeks to create a platform for local and global stakeholders to connect, share insights, and explore innovative technologies, ultimately driving the growth of IoT solutions in the Philippines,” said Raisa Orbon, chief marketing officer of Packetworx.

This year’s event is held in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology and Browan Communications. It marks a pivotal moment in the country’s pursuit of digital transformation, especially in critical sectors like public utilities, smart cities, and disaster management.

Building on the success of previous editions, IoTCon 2024 delves deeper into key IoT applications and technological advancements. “Compared to last year, IoTCon 2024 offers a broader scope and more strategic content,” Orbon said.

“This year, we are featuring roundtable discussions where participants can engage directly with LoRa Alliance members, government bodies, and industry leaders,” she said.

Alper Yegin, interim chief executive of LoRa Alliance, will present the role of the company in actively shaping global and ASEAN innovation and IoT adoption as it promotes LoRaWAN standard to ensure feature upgrades that address emerging market requirements.

Browan Communications chief executive Henry Huang will present the inroads on end-to-end system integration, platform development, and support for sustainable IoT networks.

A key highlight this year is the focus on LoRa (long range) technology and the involvement of the LoRa Alliance.

LoRa technology, known for its long-range, low-power capabilities, is crucial for scalable IoT deployments, particularly in smart city infrastructure, agriculture, and environmental monitoring.

Globally, LoRa Alliance has become a cornerstone of Packetworx’s mission to bring IoT to life.

“The LoRa Alliance’s participation amplifies the event’s credibility and global reach. Their exhibitions will demonstrate cutting- edge LoRaWAN® use cases, from smart energy solutions to disaster management systems,” Orbon said.
