The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in Rizal launched a training program in making Spanish-style bangus sardines and basic entrepreneurship for former rebels and members of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) of the 80th Infantry (STEADFAST) Battalion, 2ID, PA.

The training was held at the 80IB headquarters in Sitio Galaxy, Barangay Pinugay, Baras, Rizal.

The goal of this program is to equip former rebels with skills and knowledge they can use to reintegrate into society and find better job opportunities. It also aims to provide the CAFGU with skills to enhance their capabilities and ensure they are prepared for the challenges of modern work.

Lieutenant Colonel Ruby emphasized the importance of TESDA Rizal’s training for the participants. “By providing skills to our FRs and CAFGU, we are giving them a new chance for their future. Their success is also the success of our community as a whole,” he said.

Under the program, participants will have the opportunity to earn certification in the fields provided by TESDA Rizal. The trainings are designed to meet industry needs and to help participants find roles that match their knowledge and skills.

According to 80th IB, TESDA’s program not only aims to highlight the personal development of the participants but also to strengthen peace and development in the broader society. It is expected that former rebels and CAFGU who have received training will become active members of their communities and contribute to the nation’s development.

The training was led by Elvira Dalofin of TESDA, along with Raquel Buenaventura, Social Welfare Officer II of the MSWDO Baras, and Mrs. Arlene Canete, RPTESOC of Cainta.
