Combined forces from the Philippine Marine Corps (PMC) and the United States Marine Corps (USMC) have conducted a familiarization and practical flight demonstration on Small Unmanned Aircraft System (SUAS) operations at Tarumpitao Point, Brgy Punta Baja in Rizal town, Palawan.
According to Capt. Marissa Meriel of the 3 rd Marine Brigade, the exercise primarily focused on drone operations and maritime domain awareness meant to enhance the skills of our Philippine marines in operating SUAS to support our missions.
"The U.S. plays a crucial role as the Philippines’ key defense partner." Meriel said.
This drill is part of the eighth iteration of Kaagapay ng Mandirigma sa Dagat (KAMANDAG 08-24), an annual collaboration between the PMC and the USMC.
KAMANDAG 08-24 strengthens military ties between the two countries, fostering collaboration in addressing common security concerns while also engaging other nations in shared regional objectives.
