A total of 47,449 examinees passed the Career Service Examination – Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) held nationwide last Aug. 11.
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) announced that 42,812 examinees, constituting 14.43 percent of the 296,758 total candidates, have passed the CSE professional level. For the CSE sub-professional level, 4,637 individuals or 14.18 percent of the 32,707 examinees hurdled the test.
Based on the results per region, National Capital Region achieved the highest passing rate of 18.96 percent, with 8,242 successful examinees out of 43,478 individuals who took the exam.
Region III placed second while Region IV ranked third, with 18.73 percent and 17.56 percent passing rates, respectively. This translates to 4,153 passers out of 22,178 takes for Region III and 6,846 out of 38,978 examinees for Region IV, the CSC said.
The CSC also announced that the List of Passers is available via the Examination Results widget found on the left side of the CSC website or via the CSC Examination Portal.
Examinees, both passed and failed, can generate their individual test result using the Online Civil Service Examination Result Generation System not later than 27 October 2024. The CSC reminded that no report of rating shall be mailed or emailed to all examinees.
Meanwhile, claiming of Certificate of Eligibility (CoE) for passers, which is printed on CSC letterhead and issued free of charge, will be available by 20 November 2024 at the concerned CSC Regional Office (RO) or Field Office (FO) where the exam was taken.
Applicants are advised to verify first if their letterhead CoE is already available for claiming before going to the CSC RO or FO.
To claim the CoE, passers must present any of the following valid ID cards: Driver’s License; Passport; PRC License; SSS ID; GSIS ID (UMID); Voter’s ID/Voter’s Certification; BIR ID (ATM type/TIN card type with picture); PhilHealth ID (must have the bearer’s name, clear picture, signature and PhilHealth number); Company/Office ID; School ID; Police Clearance/Police Clearance Certificate; Postal ID; Barangay ID; NBI Clearance; Seaman’s Book; HDMF Transaction Card; PWD ID; Solo Parent ID; Senior Citizen’s ID; or PhilID.
In addition to the letterhead CoE, passers may also opt to request for Certification of Eligibility printed on security paper, with a corresponding fee, from any of the 16 CSC ROs nationwide, regardless of the place of examination, also by Nov. 20, 2024.
Passers are also advised to verify first the availability of the service and the specific documentary requirements from the CSC RO concerned before proceeding to the office.
Examinees who passed the CSE professional level are conferred the Career Service Professional Eligibility which is a requirement for appointment to first and second level positions in the government covering professional, technical, scientific, and managerial positions and requires at least four years of college studies. The Career Service Professional Eligibility is also appropriate to first level positions.
On the other hand, CSE sub-professional level eligibility is necessary for appointment to first level positions such as clerical, trades, crafts, and custodial service positions requiring less than four years of college studies.
Both professional and sub-professional eligibilities are appropriate to government positions that do not involve practice of profession and are not covered by other special laws.
The CSC clarified that, apart from passing the CSE-PPT and obtaining the professional or sub-professional eligibility, those interested to join the government service must also meet the education, experience, training requirements, as well as other competency requirements of the positions.
