THE Philippine Navy’s BRP Enrique Jurado (PC371) has undergone a four-day repair and maintenance work on its starboard main propulsion diesel engine, conducted with the assistance of Naval Intermediate Level Maintenance Station-Central (NILMS-C) personnel.
The vessel’s main engine developed mechanical problem with its lubrication system, but with the prompt reaction of the unit’s engineering crew, the possibility of further damage was averted.
The maintenance works also involved cleaning of starboard MPDE accessories, including fuel lines, air filters, and electronic terminals, and replaced lubricating oil and oil filters.
“These activities are ways to ensure the good operating condition of PC371 as it continues to provide littoral patrol missions in the Naval Forces Central Area of Operations (AO),” the Navy said.
