Philippine Navy’s BRP Florencio Iñigo (PC393) over the weekend conducted an official test firing of naval guns in Parang, Maguindanao.
The activity is conducted quarterly to test onboard weapons and ensure the gun crew’s proficiency in real firing scenarios.
The Navy stated that regular gunnery exercises are crucial for maintaining the operational and combat readiness of the entire crew against various surface threats.
PC393 completed the activity safely and successfully, with no material or personnel casualties.
A Notice to Mariners (NOTAM) was issued before the test fire to alert passing vessels about the potential dangers in the exercise area.
