The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with its French counterpart to improve aviation safety and efficiency.
Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista said the partnership will enhance civil aviation management in the Philippines by adopting global best practices, technological innovations, and training for technical personnel.
“This is to assist our agency for capacity building in improving safety and efficiency in managing the civil aviation of the country,” Bautista said in a press briefing in Malacañang on Tuesday.
“Air France is advanced in terms of aviation policies, aviation practices. And we are happy that the Government of France extended this assistance to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines for us to be ensured of safe flights and airport operations in the country,” he added.
French Ambassador to the Philippines Marie Fontanel said the MOU signing highlights the “long-standing cooperation” between the French and Philippine civil aviation authorities. She noted the agreement, first established in 2018, is renewed every two years.
