CALABARZON regional police chief Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas presented to the media more than 2,000 confiscated firearms in the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Batangas, and Quezon during the first eight months of the year.
The presentation was done during a press briefing at Camp Vicente Lim in Calamba, Laguna.
Lucas said 612 people were arrested during the operations involving service of warrants, checkpoints, and stepped up Oplan Bakal, a police term for campaigns against illegal firearms.
Lucas was accompanied in the presentation by the provincial police directors of Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon.
