The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has deployed its new high-tech Mobile Command Center (MCC) for the first time for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s third State of the Nation Address (SONA).

MMDA Chairman Don Artes on Monday led the unveiling and blessing of the new MCC at Commonwealth corner Batasan/IBP Road in Quezon City.

The MCC will be used to monitor SONA-related activities and traffic situations, as it enables real-time coordination and communication among MMDA personnel in the MCC and on the ground.

It aims to enhance traffic management and public safety monitoring across the metropolis.

“We are very thankful to Globe Telecom for its donation. The donated facility is in line with the agency’s continuous pursuit of enhancing traffic management and public safety capabilities and promoting resilience in the face of natural disasters,” Artes explained.

He added the MCC is equipped with state-of-the-art communication systems such as a portable command and dispatch system, multimode radio, remote CCTVs, and drone capabilities. It will be used for monitoring significant events, disasters, and road emergencies.

The MCC also features a surveillance system with eight deployable cameras that can be monitored through a video wall. Additionally, it can be utilized by the Philippine National Police (PNP) to respond efficiently to emergency situations.
