Senior officers of Armed Forces of the Philippine were promoted on Thursday, AFP Public Affairs Office Chief Colonel Xerxer Trinidad said.
According to Trinidad, Commander of Western Command (WESCOM), Rear Admiral Alfonso Torres Jr. received his third star in a donning of ranks ceremony led by AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo Brawner Jr.
Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations J3 Marine Major General Jimmy Larida, Deputy Commander for External Defense Operations of WESCOM Commodore Constancio Arturo Reyes Jr and Deputy Commander for Internal Defense Operations of WESCOM Brigadier General Roman Dioso also received promotions.
In his message to the newly promoted generals and flag officers, Brawner reiterated the greater responsibilities and expectations that come with higher ranks in the military.
“Be reminded that you are now entrusted with the well-being of your subordinates and the success of our mission, especially in the West Philippine Sea, in support of our territorial defense operations while upholding our core values of honor, service, and patriotism,” Brawner said.
