The House of Representatives has adopted a resolution honoring the 10 Outstanding Boy Scouts of the Philippines for their exemplary demonstration of authentic qualities of leadership and good moral character.
A majority of lawmakers passed House Resolution (HR) 1469 principally authored by Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, Majority Leader Manuel Jose Dalipe, Minority Leader Marcelino Libanan, Senior Deputy Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander Marcos and Reps. Yedda K. Romualdez (Tingog Partylist), Jose Manuel Alba, Peter Miguel, Jude
Acidre and Dale Corvera.
According to the resolution, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines has been “instrumental in shaping the character and leadership skills of young individuals across the nation,” established to inculcate in our youth the values of patriotism and nationalism and encourage their
involvement in public and civic affairs.
“In 1989, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines established the search for the Ten Outstanding Boy Scouts to recognize scouts who have shown exemplary and best epitomize good moral character and demonstrated
authentic qualities of leadership in the institution and community,” it read.
For 2023, the Ten Outstanding Boy Scouts of the Philippines are:
1. Hannah Angela Arribas (Cebu)
2, Queen Marjorie Arroyo (Batangas)
3. Alester Galieto Jude Capacio (Zamboanga Sibugay)
4. Johann Sebastian Capanas (Cebu)
5. Ethann Michael Aguirre (Quezon City)
6. JP Nelson Sumando (Surigao del Norte)
7. Samantha Lorraine Jauco (Tarlac)
8. John Jazper Luna (Manila)
9. Jedryc Romero (Laguna)
10. Jason Paul Mendez (Negros Occidental)
“Now, Therefore, be it Resolved by the House of Representatives, to extend its warmest congratulations to the Ten Outstanding Boy Scouts of the Philippines for 2023 for their exemplary achievements in
embodying the principles of scouting,” the resolution said.
