The Commission on Appointments confirmed the ad interim appointment of 22 senior military officers, marking a significant step in strengthening leadership within the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
The promotions, approved during a session, span various ranks, including Lieutenant Generals, Major Generals, Brigadier Generals, Flag Officers, and Colonels.
“The confirmation of the promotions highlights the AFP’s focus on merit-based leadership, which will continue to serve as the cornerstone of the military’s professional development,” said AFP Public Affairs Office Chief Colonel Xerxes Trinidad.
This batch of newly promoted officers is led by Lieutenant General Jimmy D. Larida, who has recently been designated as the AFP Deputy Chief of Staff.
