Presidential aspirant Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said he is hopeful of getting the support of El Shaddai members after the charismatic group’s leader, Bro. Mike Velarde, said there will be no block voting in the May 9 elections.

Domagoso, who attended an El Shaddai meeting over the weekend, said he is thankful that Velarde said members will have to make their own personal choices in electing their future leaders.

“Brother Mike said earlier that ‘the choice is yours,’ and because of that, Brother Mike, you gave me hope,” the 47-year-old presidential candidate said.

“If I am lucky, I will make you feel human equality. Whether from Mindanao, Visayas and Luzon or abroad, every Filipino is equal in government services, programs and policies,” he added as he thanked El Shaddai members residing in Manila for bringing him to victory in the 2019 midterm elections.

Velarde, founder and leader of the 6-million strong Catholic charismatic movement El Shaddai, on Saturday clarified its members are free to choose their own candidates, including their preferred presidential bet.

Velarde told his flock they are free to vote according to the dictates of their conscience after thoroughly examining each candidate’s track record and platform of governance and praying over their decision.

“The choice is yours,” Velarde said, adding that moving forward the charismatic members should expect more candidates to grace their prayer meeting so they will be able to hear their platforms.

“Don’t be surprised that every Saturday, we have guest candidates. We welcome them all to attend our work. I am presenting them to you, examine their hearts,” Velarde said.
