Over the years, I’ve witnessed Mindanao evolve and transform. Beyond the stunning natural beauty, the region has a unique cultural energy and a welcoming spirit that often go unnoticed. It’s certainly a place where tradition meets modernity, where diverse communities coexist, and where opportunities abound. But this narrative, the richness of Mindanao in different aspects, has long been diminished in the mainstream media.
That’s why the launch of the Mindanow Network at the Manila House Private Club on December 2 feels like a homecoming of sorts for a Mindanao adoptee like me.
