Australian home and lifestyle brand Anko opens doors in PH

Anko, a home and lifestyle brand popular in Australia and New Zealand for its affordable, high-quality products, has entered the Philippine market by opening its first store in Makati. The brand offers a wide range of items, including home essentials, storage solutions, fitness gear, and pet accessories.

The store, which opened on Nov. 7, was inaugurated by Kmart Group Managing Director Ian Bailey, Anko Global CEO Arjun Puri, Anko Philippines Country Manager Rachel Turner, Ayala Land, Inc. Senior Vice President for Leasing and Hospitality Mariana Zobel de Ayala, and Ayala Malls COO Paul Birkett.

Speaking on the brand’s venture into the Philippines, Bailey expressed that Anko took pride in consistently delivering quality products to consumers at an affordable price.

“As we introduce Anko to the Philippines, we’re dedicated to bringing Filipino families the same reliable quality and affordability that have made Anko a much-loved brand in the ANZ region,” said Bailey.

According to Turner, the Philippines was a natural choice for Anko as it expanded its market because Filipinos and their culture bearing a strong emphasis on the importance of family resonated with their products.

“With over a hundred million people in the Philippines compared to our home market of 30 million, where we sell over a billion units annually, we see immense potential. It’s an exciting opportunity to bring Anko’s value and quality to even more homes,” she said.

Anko’s affordable prices stem from their direct partnership with manufacturers

Anko’s store includes sections for home essentials, decor, kitchen and dining, bathroom and laundry, storage, bath and body, haircare, skincare, arts and crafts, tech, toys, and pet products. By designing its own products and partnering directly with manufacturers, the brand removes traditional retail markups, providing high-quality items at affordable prices.

The opening of its first store also saw the launch of an exclusive Christmas bag designed by Filipino artist Jamie Bauza. The bag features a vibrant display of a Christmas celebration in the Philippines that includes music and sharing food with one another.

The artist shared that while creating the bag’s design, he wanted to incorporate elements from the culture the Philippines is known for while also infusing the modern style of Anko.

The store’s pets section features numerous kinds of colorful toys and accessories

“It’s a piece that celebrates the Filipino love for family and togetherness, especially during the holidays,” said Bauza.

With Anko’s “Kaya Bagay Tayo” campaign, the brand aims to highlight its commitment to perfectly matching Filipinos’ various lifestyles.

“We look forward to Anko becoming a meaningful part of Filipino homes, where family moments are treasured,” said Puri.

Anko’s first store in Makati is located at Glorietta 2, open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekdays and until 10:00 p.m. on weekends.
