NCCA brings back national dance competition

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts’s (NCCA) National Committee on Dance (NCD) has announced the return of the national dance competition “Sayaw Pinoy!”

Aiming to promote the various forms of dance and raise the consciousness of artists when it comes to the value of artistic excellence, the competition includes four categories: folk dance, contemporary dance, ballroom formation, and hip hop.

Open to all Filipino citizens residing in the Philippines aged 13 and above, the competition will be held at the Metropolitan Theater on Sept. 26 for the folk dance category and on Sept. 27 for the contemporary dance category. The ballroom formation and hip hop categories will be held at the Kartilya ng Katipunan on Sept. 28.

The winning groups for every category will be awarded with a P70,000 cash prize.

Those who are interested in participating may send their entries through an email to sayawpinoy2024@gmail.com or in person at the NCCA Arts Section, 5th floor, NCCA Building, in Intramuros, Manila until Sept. 5.
