The countdown for Christmas has begun, and it’s only a few more days before we celebrate one of the most highly anticipated holidays in the country.
Besides shopping for the perfect gifts for our loved ones, another Christmas tradition that many of us prepare for is the Christmas Eve dinner, locally known as Noche Buena.
Some of the dishes commonly served during this meal include ham, pasta, and fruit salad, to name a few. To complement the season, streaming giant Netflix, released six themed baskets to spice up Noche Buena.
Netflix’s Noche Buena gift baskets not only bring variety to tables but are also curated to meet the theme of some of the trending series and movies in the country, allowing consumers to celebrate the holidays as if they were in their favorite series or movies.
For example, one Noche Buena Basket named “The Gganbu” and modeled after the hit Korean series Squid Game contains a bento box and spork, ramyun, tteokbeokki, squid chips, soju, and a red bean bun for Metro Manila residents or a red bean cake for provincial residents. But aside from food, the basket also has novelty items such as a Younghee doll, a face mask similar to those worn in the series, honeycomb, and marbles that families can enjoy playing with during Noche Buena.
Aside from the hit Korean series, Netflix also pays homage to some local productions that caused hype during the previous year, such as the animated adaptation of the Filipino comic Trese.
The Trese themed Noche Buena basket, dubbed “The Bentesingko,” contains includes a choco-peanut bar, choco-peanut spread, ketchup, a craft beer bundle, instant dinuguan, one pack of pandesal, canned sausages, and holiday ham or canned ham, depending on the delivery location. Other items include tree ornaments and kambal masks.
Other Noche Buena Baskets from Netflix include “The I Louvre” from Emily in Paris, “The Merry Christmas As A Friend” from My Amanda, “The Billi Ciao” from Money Heist, and “The Most Wanted” from Red Notice.
These baskets were made available on the Netflix Noche Buena website. Visit www.netflixnochebuena.com for more information.
