In celebration of Father’s Day, Muntinlupa City hosted its annual fun run “Takbo, Tatay, Takbo” this June 15 at the Muntinlupa Sports Center.
This year’s event began with warm-up exercises followed by the gun start at 5:15 AM that sent runners into the 10K and 5K races.
The course started from the Sports Center, navigating through different streets and roads, and back to the Sports Center. The City Government provided portable restrooms and water stations to ensure the comfort and hydration of participants throughout the run.
Carlito Fantilaga of Brgy. Sucat won the P10,000 cash prize for finishing first in the 10K run, and Eric Medalla of Brgy. Alabang won P7,000 for winning the 5K race. Second and third-place finishers of both 10K and 5K runs were also awarded cash prizes.
All participants received complimentary finisher shirts, singlets, and running kits as remembrance of their participation in the fun-filled fitness activity.
“Health and wellness ang pinopromote natin kaya nakakatuwa dahil naipakita ng participants ang kanilang strength and perseverance. Ineencourage din natin ang kalalakihan at lahat ng Muntinlupeño na magkaron ng fitness program para mapanatiling malusog at malakas ang katawan dahil kailangan tayo ng ating pamilya”, Mayor Ruffy Biazon said.
Since 2015, Muntinlupa has hosted Takbo, Tatay, Takbo in observance of Father’s Day while also promoting healthy lifestyle and community engagement among Muntinlupeños.
