CALAMBA CITY — A member of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion based in Camp Macario Sakay in Los Baños, Laguna was accorded with the Hero of the Year Award by the Gawad ng Pilipino, a non-stock, non profit organization.
PEMS Paquito Chan was accorded with such honor together with AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner, PNP Chief Gen Benjamin Acorda Jr., Lt. Col. Joseph Ross Jocson of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Lt. Col. Jerry Castillo, Station 4 Commander of the Quezon City Police on Dec. 27, 2023 at the AFP Commissioned Officers Club at Camp General Emilio Aquinaldo, Quezon City.
According to Dr. Danilo Mangahas, President of Gawad Pilipino, said personalities including Chan earns the special trust and confidence in the patriotism, valor and fidelity.
As such, Chan also earned the Goodwill Ambassador of the Philippine National Police from the Gawad Pilipino.
Last Christmas, Chan, distributed gifts for the residents of NIA Road, Brgy 2-G, Malagasang, Imus City and about 150 persons with disabilities from Barangay Salinas I, Bacoor City as part of his continuous humanitarian mission.
Chan was also recently the recipient from the Gawad Agila as “The Most Excelent Leader in Humanitarian Service” and NAPOLCOM Service Award because.of his civic action.
