LINGAYEN, Pangasinan—Pangasinan’s history, festivals and culture will be enlivened in street dance performances by different participating contingents during the Parada na Luyag, one of the highlights of the 437th Agew Na Pangasinan on April 5.

Based on the contest mechanics prepared by the event committee, headed by Human Resources Management and Development Office chief Janette Asis and co-chaired by Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Emilio Samson, the competition, which is an open category, allows a local government unit to have more than one entry.

As such, two elements and requirements are highly required. These are: 1) Routine shall showcase the culture, festival and history of the city or municipality, 2) Dancers should wear colorful costumes and must select a theme that they will interpret through a live music.

Assembly time for the participants will be at 1 o’clock in the afternoon at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center oval. The parade, on the other hand, will start at 2 p.m.

The parade route will start at the NRSCC and will pass through the streets of Alvear and Artacho straight to Lingayen Plaza and Maramba Blvd. This thoroughfare will also serve as four stations where each contingent shall perform their one-minute routine. Finally, the participants will showcase their full performance at the Capitol Plaza, the exhibition area.
