820 Cagayan barangays get new vehicles

TUGUEGARAO City—Cagayan Gov. Manuel Mamba has led the distribution of new multi-cab type service vehicles to 820 barangays across the province in a ceremony held at the Cagayan Sports Complex here.

The governor said it was important to show the people that the government is an institution that addresses their needs and problems, not a cause of their concerns.

“Let’s demonstrate to them that the government is the solution to their problems and how to be effective leaders. It is the problem solver rather than the problem itself. Only if we understand how to make sacrifices would this be feasible; else, we won’t be allowed to join the government,” Mamba stressed.

The distribution of vehicles to all the barangays of Cagayan was part of Mamba’s advocacy to ensure that no barangay is left behind in development.

The 32 barangays of Tuao, led by Mayor William Mamba, along with the members of the Sangguniang Bayan and barangay officials, were the first to receive the vehicles.

Mayor Mamba conveyed his appreciation for the support provided to his town by the provincial government, saying it was a significant help to each barangay in Tuao in strengthening and expanding the provision of services to the residents.

Tuguegarao Mayor Maila Rosario Ting-Que also thanked the governor for the 49 new utility service vehicles that were to distributed by the provincial government to each barangay in Tuguegarao last Dec. 23.

Mamba led the turnover ceremony of the new vehicles on Dec. 30 to the 48 barangays of the town of Baggao.

On Jan. 6, the governor also turned over the vehicles to the 42 barangays of the municipality of Aparri.

The utility vehicles were funded with P672.4 million from the unused funds of the No Barangay Left Behind (NBLB) program in the past year.
