BIR Bataan headed by Revenue District Officer Mercedes Estalilla renewed its appeal to individuals who have not settled their estate taxes to avail of the extended amnesty offered by the government as the deadline of June 14, 2023 nears.
BIR Bataan Admin and HR Officer Gemo Espinosa said they have posted tarpaulins in areas in the province to remind the public of the deadline of the extended estate tax amnesty program of the government.
Estalilla said if the amnesty is availed, there is no need to pay the surcharge and penalty due to the delay in estate tax payment.
The amnesty covers the estate of the deceased who died on or before December 31, 2017.
Republic Act 11569 amended RA 11213 or the Estate Amnesty Act to extend the validity of the estate tax amnesty program.
Originally the deadline was June 2021.
