Navy Seabees buckle down to work and install temporary shelter for Marawi residents in Barangay Sagunsungan. Temporary housing of about 1,175 units in a 13-hectare lot started earlier November. Each unit measures 22 square meters and stands on a 54-square-meter lot. The government is constructing single detached houses with a personal toilet and bath upon the request of the Marawi City residents. The temporary shelters will be for the center-based evacuees but Secretary Del Rosario said it will take some time before they can accommodate all 5,000 due to land availability. Figures from the Department of Social Welfare and Development put the number of displaced families at 78,466. Most of them are staying with their relatives while around 5,000 are in evacuation centers.
