Deadly giant waves

Three deaths, one in Chile, have been blamed on large waves up to 13 feet pummeling Ecuador, Chile and Peru, where nearly 100 ports have been closed because of the rough conditions. The phenomenon began on Christmas and is expected to last until today, authorities said.
