No alcohol

Empty whiskey bottles are lined up the bar of a nightclub that was closed by order of Iraqi security forces in Baghdad on Dec. 5, 2024. Several private ‘social’ clubs that have operated in Baghdad for decades were sent official letters in November forbidding them from serving alcohol. Dozens of establishments have closed in recent months and their owners, often from the Yazidi community, regularly demonstrate in the center of Baghdad.
