The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) issued a stern reminder to consumers to prioritize safety and responsibility when purchasing fireworks for the New Year revelry.
DTI Secretary Cristina Roque underscored the importance of choosing only certified fireworks to prevent accidents and ensure a safe and prosperous celebration.
“As we usher in a New Year, it is crucial to remember that safety should always be our top priority. By purchasing certified fireworks, consumers can significantly reduce the risk of accidents and injuries, allowing everyone to enjoy the festivities with peace of mind,” Roque said.
To assist consumers, the DTI, through the Bureau of Philippine Standards (BPS), published a comprehensive list of certified fireworks on its official website.
This list serves as a reliable guide, helping consumers make informed choices by selecting products that meet rigorous safety standards.
The DTI said it remains vigilant in protecting consumers and ensuring a safe holiday season for all.
