Philippine Airlines (PAL) tapped Collins Aerospace to equip its narrow-body aircraft with cutting-edge Pinnacle seats.
The partnership marks a pivotal moment for the Philippine aerospace industry, showcasing the growing capabilities of local manufacturing. The Pinnacle seats, renowned for their comfort and durability, will be installed on PAL’s narrow-body aircraft.
“This collaboration between Collins Aerospace and Philippine Airlines represents a significant step forward for the Philippines’ aerospace industry,” said Mary DeStaffan, senior director of operations at Collins Aerospace Philippines.
“The expansion of Collins’ main cabin seating production at our Philippines location, in addition to installing the seats to fly on the nation’s flag carrier soon, showcases our facility’s world-class capabilities and demonstrates the potential for growth in the local aerospace sector,” he said.

“This collaboration aligns with our commitment to supporting local industry while ensuring our passengers enjoy the highest standards of comfort and safety. Being the first airline in the country to install locally made seats adds a special significance to our fleet enhancement program,” he said.
The Pinnacle main cabin seat provides enhanced passenger comfort and modular design, balancing durability with optimized living space and modern passenger amenities.
First opened in 2012, Collins’ Philippines facility manufactures a range of cabin interior products, including galleys, galley inserts, oxygen equipment and lavatories.
The facility delivered its first seats from the newly-established main cabin seating line in 2024 and continued to expand the site’s capabilities and workforce by contributing to the growth of the aerospace industry in the Philippines.
