European Commissioner for Budget and Administration Johannes Hahn arrived in Manila for a landmark two-day visit.

This marks the first time a European commissioner of his level visited the Philippines.

Hahn during the visit will champion investment in EU bonds, highlighting their safety and stability and advocate for the euro as a dependable global currency.

His agenda include discussions with key figures in the Philippine finance sector including Finance Secretary Ralph Recto.

The European Union’s impressive growth as a major issuer of euro-denominated bonds, reaching around 150 billion euros annually, underscores the attractiveness of EU bonds.

The commission’s vast investor base, comprising 1,700 diverse investors from 70 countries, continues to illicit increasing interest from investors outside Europe.
