State-run Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) is teaming up with business organizations in Metro Clark to accelerate the development of New Clark City as a “smart, resilient and sustainable urban center.”

BCDA said it signed memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with the Metro Angeles Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (MACCII) and the Pampanga Business Development Coordinating Council (PBDCC). The collaboration aims to attract investment and promote New Clark City’s potentials.

Both the MACCII and the PBDCC will contribute to information-sharing on investment opportunities, incentives and development projects within BCDA properties, particularly New Clark City.

Both organizations are also expected to mount joint workshops, seminars and networking events to connect potential investors with the BCDA.

Meanwhile, MACCII will leverage its network to promote investment opportunities among local and foreign audiences.

The partners also aim to advocate policies that encourage economic growth and represent the interests of the Angeles City and Central Luzon business community.

The PBDCC, with its network of businesses and universities, plans to establish a business incubation facility in New Clark City.

The group will conduct market research and studies on identified projects.

BCDA said it would share its expertise on urban planning, infrastructure development and economic zone management; collaborate on investment promotion activities, market research and feasibility studies; and conduct regular consultations with both groups for ongoing communication and valuable business insights.

“We are very conscious of BCDA’s role and mandate. It is part of our commitment to make sure that the BCDA communities are equally developed and the people are involved. We are not only after the sustainability of urban spaces, but more, we aim for human sustainability,” said BCDA vice president Edwin Kenneth Peralta.
