NGCP energizes Bohol transmission facilities

Transmission operator National Grid Corp. of the Philippines said Friday it energized the Ubay-Alicia-Garcia 69kV line serving parts of Bohol Electric Cooperative.

It said Power Barge 104 is available to supply power through NGCP’s transmission facilities, but the plant was put on shutdown at 6:56 p.m. due to low actual load.

“Their current power consumption is insufficient to support the stable operation of PB 104,” NGCP said.

Bohol is one of the hardest hit areas of typhoon Odette, and the Department of Energy and other energy stakeholders were working double time to restore electricity in the area.

NGCP is also working on the partial restoration of transmission services to Southern Leyte Electric Cooperative. It is also looking at partial restoration of transmission services to Negros Oriental Electric Cooperative.
