The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) has officially turned over the restored convent and ceiling paintings of Sta. Ana Parish in Molo, Iloilo, to the Archdiocese of Jaro.

The NHCP spearheaded the restoration efforts in 2023 as part of its locally funded projects. The Historic Preservation Division and Materials Research Conservation Division implemented the restoration work.

During the turnover ceremony, certificates of transfer and acceptance for the centuries-old heritage properties were signed by NHCP chair Regalado Trota Jose, Jr. and Jaro Archbishop Jose Romeo O. Lazo, DD. The signing was witnessed by NHCP Executive Director Carminda R. Arevalo and Sta. Ana Parish Team Ministry Moderator Rev. Msgr. Jose Marie Amado S. Delgado, PC, VG.

Parish Pastoral Council President Dr. Kristin Louise G. Treñas, along with Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas, welcomed the community and partners into the restored Molo Church Convent.

The Sta. Ana Parish of Molo, declared a National Historical Landmark in 1992, was first founded in 1831 and completed in 1888. It served as an evacuation center during World War II and suffered significant damage, but the community eventually restored it.
