Encanto revolves around the story of a family whose members possess extraordinary magical powers. Yet, Maribel is born with no special ability, which makes her a normal being and an exception to the family.

“[A] wish my heart made as soon as it knew what dreams and wishes were,” the actress wrote in her Instagram post noting her excitement for the movie.

In addition, the actress expressed her admiration for the movie and she can’t wait for the audience to meet her character Mirabel.

It is not the first time that Stephanie participated in a Disney animated project but “Encanto” was her first Disney film wherein she will be the main character.

The actress has lent her voice to Ixlan, a character in the series Elena of Avalor, and to Gosalyn Mallard in the 2017 program Ducktales.

Encanto is the second animated movie produced by Disney Animated Canon to showcase a foreign title. The movie’s name was derived from a Spanish word that means charm, spell, and enchantment.

The film, initially planned in the first quarter of 2020, was produced by the team involved in award-winning Disney movies such as Zootopia and Moana.

The official movie poster and teaser trailer were released on June 8 and will premiere on Nov. 24.
