Caloocan City Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan has removed the job-order worker arrested in the alleged entrapment operation conducted by members of the National Bureau of Investigation.
In the initial report received by Oca, the job-order worker Vince Noveno of the Business Permit and Licensing Office is being sued for extortion by an ice plant in the city.
The alleged entrapment operation of the NBI took place while Noveno was at work at the North City Hall.
“We will not tolerate any wrongdoing on the part of our staff. Public servants who are found to have committed an offense should be detained and removed from the service,” Oca said.
“Right now we are in contact with the NBI to find out more details about this. I also assure that we will work with the NBI to file a case against the convicted staff.”
Oca encouraged the people to report these types of activities so that those found to be in violation of the law can be removed immediately.
“Corruption has no place in our City Government. No one is excused in this matter. As public servants, we should be a good example to the people,” Oca said.
