Seven suspects charged in killing of NMCH Director

Police have filed two counts of murder case against seven suspects who could be behind the killing of National Center for Mental Health director Roland Cortez, 61, and his driver Ernesto dela Cruz, 46, before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.

General Ronnie Montejo, Quezon City Police District chief, said those charged were Sonny Sandicho, 42, of Cainta Rizal; Clarita Avila, NCMH chief administrative officer; George Serrano, NCMH employee; Harly Pagarigan, also an NCMH employee; Roman Eugenio, 44, a businessman from Cainta Rizal; Cristina Riego, alias Ma. Cristina Riego dela Cruz, a businesswoman from Cainta Rizal, and Edieson Riego, 26, an online seller from Taytay, Rizal.

With the filing of the case against the suspects, “this case is considered solved,” he said.

“Likewise, the suspects who are all at large will be given the chance to prove their innocence in court,” he added.

Avila is the alleged mastermind of the crime, while Pagarigan is the supposed gunman.
