Duterte: Vaccine is just around the corner

President Rodrigo Duterte urged Filipinos not to despair even as the number of COVID-19 positive cases continue to surge, saying a vaccine will soon become available.

“We live in a troubled time. Our dream of prosperity for our country was suddenly snapped by a pandemic – a virulent virus. No nation was spared. Neither rich nor poor was spared from the onslaught of this disease,” Duterte said in his penultimate SONA.

“But let us not despair, the vaccine is just around the corner,” the President said.

He also condoled with the families of those who perished from the virus.

“We share the grief of their families. No amount of tears can compensate their great losses,” he said.
