Village lauded for help in raid of Sino ‘clinics’

For actively cooperating with the law enforcement agencies, the National Bureau Investigation has commended the officers of the Multinational Village Homeowners Association Inc. (MVHAI) for the successful dismantling of an underground hospital unlawfully operated by Chinese nationals in the gated subdivision.

Lawyer Ross Jonathan Galicia, NBI Task Force Commander, also praised the 35 detailed private security officers of the MVHAI for their dedication by providing vital information and the exact location of the underground clinic inside a house on Timothy St., which was raided last May 29.

Arrested during the raid were Chinese nationals Liang Junshai, Pingqiang Long, Yanyun Jiang, and Tang Hong Shan, who operated the clinic which did not have a single permit from the national and local governments.

“Such show of support and cooperation with the operatives of NBI-Task Force Against Illegal Drugs in carrying their mandate exemplified the true qualities of security officers whose professionalism and dedication to service is worthy of recognition and emulation,” Galicia said.

Galicia said the underground clinic catered only to Chinese nationals working for Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO). For the past four years, hundreds of POGO employees are renting in big residential houses and condominium units located in Multinational Village.

Arnel Gacutan, president of MVHAI, said the association was respecting the NBI’s jurisdiction over the case. He explained that the MVHAI had no authority to pursue a separate investigation and deferred to the authorities as to the disposition of the case.

Gacutan said they fully cooperated with the combine forces city police and city health office who raided last Saturday the second illegal clinic in the subdivision reportedly being used to treat and test coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients, mostly Chinese nationals.

He earlier urged law enforcement agencies to conduct another inspection at the subdivision following intelligence reports that there were more illegal Chinese medical clinics in the area.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency also appreciated the officers of the homeowner association for the successful conduct of anti-illegal drug operation also in Timothy St., which resulted in the arrest of four foreign nationals and confiscation of shabu worth P6.9 million.

Gacutan assured residents that the homeowner association do not tolerate any illegal activity within the village and “we continue to do our duty to keep our residents safe.”

“Let us unite. We are fighting a very dangerous enemy in COVID-19. Divisiveness and disinformation will only endanger all of us,” Gacutan said, as he reiterated his appeal to residents, to stop issuing conflicting media statements and intrigues about the wrongdoings of Chinese nationals.
