Police nab 2 Chinese nationals who abducted fellow Chinese

Police arrested two Chinese nationals who abducted and detained a fellow Chinese at their condominium unit in Makati City.

Suspects Zhou Meng, 26, and Tseng Yi-Ting, 25 were arrested inside their residence at Room 3316 Lerato Tower 1, Malugay Street in Barangay Bel-Air around 9:40 p.m. Monday.

The two were responsible for the abduction and illegal detention of Ao Yuan, 29, a resident of 14H Three Central Condominium, Valero Street, also in Barangay Bel-Air.

Makati City police chief investigator P/Maj. Gideon Ines said they conducted the rescue operation after their office received “SOS” information via Chinese mobile application and reported the crime involving a female Chinese national around 9 p.m.

With the help of security personnel and other individuals at the condominium, the police operatives were able to rescue the victim who at that time was shouting for help at Unit 3316.

Police recovered four computer laptop units, identification cards, and condoms from the condominium unit.

Citing initial investigation conducted by the Makati City police station, Southern Police District spokesperson P/Maj. Jaybee Bayani said the victim owed money to her captors.

The case was the latest crime incident happened in southern Metro Manila involving Chinese nationals.

Five months ago, police arrested two Chinese nationals for killing a fellow Chinese and injuring another inside a restaurant, also in Barangay Bel-Air, Makati City.

The suspects were Yang Chao Wen, 32, and Yan Wu, 29.

The authorities arrested the two foreigners for the killing of Yin Jian Tao, 33, and injuring his companion Zheng Kai, 25, inside a VIP room of Jiang Nan Hot Pot Restaurant along Garcia Street in Barangay Bel-Air.

Investigation showed that one of the suspects entered into a transaction with Yin but did not materialize. The two initially met somewhere and later at the restaurant where the victim agreed to hand over P345,000 cash for the transaction.
